If you have an event or general question and don't see the answer here, please submit an RFI or Request for Information. To submit and RFI:
*Please note that questions beyond general event logistics for Concrete Canoe and Steel Bridge must go to the appropriate ASCE National channels.
- Send an email to [email protected]
- Ask your question, and ensure the subject line of the email is "EventName/General_Question_SchoolName". For private matters, use the subject line "PRIVATE: EventName/General_Question_SchoolName". Please note that if you do not use this heading format, your question will not be answered.
- Questions will be answered within a week of being sent. When answered, the reply will be sent to all conference schools and posted on this website to ensure transparency, unless the email was private.
- Questions will be taken until a week after the third mailer, March 8th, 2018.

General Questions
When is the first Mailer going to be sent out?
First Mailer for conference goes out October 15th. Stay tuned to the twitter feed for more updates.
At which ASU campus will PSWC 2018 events be held at?
PSWC will take place on ASU's Tempe campus.
Will there be a triathlon?
No, there is no triathlon taking place. There will only be the obstacle course. Apologies for that inconsistency.
Will there be a place to park a trailer on campus in case the hotel doesn't have parking for trailers?
Currently, the PSWC Team is working on discussing the possibility of trailer parking with ASU camping services. As soon as we have a definite answer we will send you an email, and our website will be updated with parking details.
Do you need a fax number for Mailer I?
No fax number is necessary.
If you have a Faculty Advisor and a Co-Faculty Advisor, who should you include in the mailer?
If you would like your Co-Faculty advisor to be included in future emails, you may put both. Otherwise, your primary faculty adviser is fine.
Environmental Questions
Is the Miracle-Gro Water Soluble All Purpose Plant Food the one that will be used in the competition?
Yes, that is what Table 1 of the Environmental Competition rules state.
What exactly is in the wastewater effluent that will be added to the competition wastewater?
The wastewater effluent is pre-disinfection water; this may be collected after the secondary or tertiary clarifier depending on the WWTP. As for what is in the effluent, your guess is as good as ours.
Can any students in the team of 6 (4 construction members and 2 alternates) perform the presentation, or do the presenters have to be chosen from the 4 construction team members?
Presenters do not need to be constructors.
Geowall Questions
Is the PSWC paper criteria and deadlines the same as Nationals?
We have updated the GeoWall rules to clarify the expectation. We apologize for the confusion.
Surveying Questions
Will the conference hosts provide surveying equipment?
Schools are responsible for bringing their own equipment.
Will each school use their own equipment for the bonus setup portion of the competition?
Hosts will provide equipment during the timed bonus setup portion of the competition.
Are there any restrictions on the type of plummet?
Teams will use optical plummets only.
